This keynote was delivered at our Learning by Making event in Los Angeles by Amanda Haughs, educator and learning designer at the Campbell School of Innovation in Campbell Union School District.

Amanda Haughs is a second grade teacher and learning designer at the Campbell School of Innovation in Campbell Union School District (San Jose) in California. Her focus is on engaging all students in meaningful and authentic cross-curricular learning experiences, with the use of technology to personalise and enhance learning.

Something that I've noticed in a lot of my students who suffer from that perfectionism and from that anxiety is that they often think you're only creative and innovated if you've created something that is completely brand new. This prevents them from ever getting started

We invited Amanda to deliver a keynote at our Learning by Making event in Los Angeles, where she talked about why it is important to cultivate that creative confidence in our students and why our students shouldn't be afraid of failure.

This video was recorded at pi-top’s Learning by Making fringe event in Los Angeles. Check out previous talks here.
